Frut02 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Can anyone recommend any places that will do web hosting for education? I have 4 sites, 3 of them with the sch.uk domain and it looks like places like 1and1 and godaddy wont host them. Any Ideas? Many Thanks Nick
MYK-IT Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) We've recently moved a combination of our School's websites (from other hosting companies) and various Domain Names too, including .sch.uk (registered with other hosting companies) over to https://www.vidahost.com/ using their Unlimited Hosting Package; as we wanted to centrally manage everything 'web' related. The whole process was done swiftly, and efficiently (including transferring our existing website content across) all through their on-line help-desk system (you can phone them too!) and we even purchased another Domain Name. Use Discount Code JUSTASK for 10% off! Edited February 29, 2016 by MYK-IT
Edu-IT Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 http://www.tsohost.com is my recommendation, although, they're all owned by Paragon Internet Group so there's numerous brands.
pantscat Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 http://www.tsohost.com is my recommendation Another TSO user here - they're excellent.
matt40k Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Late to game but https://www.mythic-beasts.com/ - they do invoicing too.
MrKJLS Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) Take a look at Openshift (you get 1GB free) http://HTTPS://www.Openshift.com, you will something like uptime robot to keep from idling depending how much traffic it gets. The 1GB is site storage, not bandwidth. Edited March 22, 2016 by MrKJLS
ITGURU Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 1&1 will let you transfer your .sch.uk domain as I was told it's not a subdomain as such. I was looking in to it a while ago and they said there would be no issues with getting it moved. Can anyone recommend any places that will do web hosting for education? I have 4 sites, 3 of them with the sch.uk domain and it looks like places like 1and1 and godaddy wont host them. Any Ideas? Many Thanks Nick
