6Foot2 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Thirty years after the original film took the world by storm, Ghostbusters is back and fully rebooted for a new generation. DJ-1701 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 That is my first time watching a trailer for a trailer!! What was the point? Lol Maybe they were trailing behind with the trailer, so put up a trailer trailer to trail us off our trailer fix?
synaesthesia Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Poor hype and really not expecting anything of this film. 1
kearton Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 On a related note... I happened to be watching Ghostbusters 2 with my son the other day, and 9(ish) mins into it when Bill Murray is talking to the psychic woman, she claimed the world was going to end *today* (14/2/16)...

LeMarchand Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Looks OK to me. Not on my "OMG! When to tickets go on sale?" list, but looks tolerably entertaining. Don't know why so many people are dead set against it. 1
6Foot2 Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 ...Don't know why so many people are dead set against it. Affection for/loyalty to the original cast, particularly Bill Murray?
Dos_Box Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I didn't expect a remake! Remaking Ghostbusters is like remaking Star Wars. Blasphemous!
LeMarchand Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Affection for/loyalty to the original cast, particularly Bill Murray? Murray has repeatedly said he's not interested, AFAIK Dan Aykroyd at least used to be, Ernie Hudson gotta eat, so I guess he'd not turn down the work, and Harold Ramis is dead. So It's BM who stopped GB III. Never found him that amusing, he always plays himself (even in The Razor's Edge, which he directed so no excuse there - quite a good film otherwise) and - worst of all - he starred in one of the most over-rated, turgid pieces of dullness ever committed to celluloid: Lost in Translation. Besides which, from what I hear BM doesn't seem to object to the new film...
sted Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 very slow paced and since when were there 4 scientists winston wasnt as far as i remember. not hating it but also dosent make me want to watch it either
DJ-1701 Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I didn't expect a remake! Remaking Ghostbusters is like remaking Star Wars. Blasphemous! Is it a remake though? The trailer states that '30 years ago four scientists saved New York', 'This summer a new team will answer the call'. From that I would assume it's a continuation as opposed to a remake, but I could be wrong.
Arthur Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 From that I would assume it's a continuation as opposed to a remake, but I could be wrong. Sony's description for the YouTube trailer says it's a reboot. Ghostbusters makes its long-awaited return, rebooted with a cast of hilarious new characters. Thirty years after the beloved original franchise took the world by storm, director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth. This summer, they’re here to save the world! 1
rich_tech Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I watched this trailer this morning and thought it was terrible and has all the makings of a king kong sized turkey going by that trailer, it seems way too forced and trying way too hard with a film series that should not have been remade, Hollywood needs to leave some of their works alone and not go back or reboot or remake.

Dos_Box Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 lol - what he said ^^ +1 Although they could have tried remaking Ghostbusters 2
synaesthesia Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 That trailer is 100 times better than the last one, yet it still doesn't look like a particularly good film. And *still* using the racial comic card in 2016? Even Chris Rock got bored of that. Maybe I'm expecting too much from it.
rich_tech Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 I stand by my first comments on that film trailer, it still looks terrible and way too forced.
sted Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 I stand by my first comments on that film trailer, it still looks terrible and way too forced. it just looks like some exec thought people like ghostbusters still lets cash in and nobody really had a good story to tell but whilever money can be made rehashing old ideas we will get the films we "support"
6Foot2 Posted June 6, 2016 Author Posted June 6, 2016 A reminder of the first Ghostbusters: Posted on Twitter: 31st October 2015 Link: 1
