We're going to be on TV!

Some of you may have heard of the comedian Romesh Ranganathan (he was on Question Time last night), who was until about 3 or 4 years ago, a maths teacher here. Anyway he left to do stand up (he always was a funny guy) and has become quite well known, and last month he was back at the school to film a program for ITV which was about using technology in the classroom to make teaching easier (yes I can hear you all groaning now!). I was asked to come in over the weekend the filming took place to help out with the IT side of stuff and it was really interesting to see program being put together.

 

We were sworn to secrecy until given the nod by ITV and apparently they have have now nodded, so check out the program next Tuesday at 8! Blurb is below

 

“It’s Not Rocket Science” is a new science show on ITV1 with the actor Ben Miller, Countdown’s Rachel Riley, plus comedian and ex-Hazelwick student & teacher Romesh Ranganathan.

The first episode is being screened at 8:00pm on Tuesday 16 February.

In this episode, Olympic hopeful Adam Gemili races against a Red Arrow, Rachel Riley travels through a wall of fire at 450 degree centigrade, and Ben Miller uses the power of Joey Essex's brain to drive a car.

However, the highlight is former Hazelwick maths teacher Romesh Ranganathan returning to his old classroom armed with new technology to teach a lesson for the first time in three years."

Joey Essex's brain to drive a car sounds scary as something mega scary as he has no brain to start with and Rachel Riley knows that from when he was on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown!
