JATSO Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) When 2 of my Primary's became an Academy the 2 schools moved from SIMS to another MIS Our contract is up this summer so I have been tasked to look at it again and see if we can save some money and also get an MIS that works well looks easy for staff to use in the classroom and is above all cheaper than what were being quoted for renewal. We don't use the finance package that come with an MIS as we use Agresso. Any suggestions out there? Edited January 22, 2016 by JATSO
jcollings Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 A number of the primaries we work with use ScholarPack and seem to love it. 1
JATSO Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 Yes Scholarpack looks a good choice but as were an academy we have to look at at least another 2 to obtain best value etc. We know SIMs and we know Bromcom I have sent a list obtained from the BETT Show website of possibles. Up to management in the end.
Oaktech Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 You could do a lot worse than look at Progresso at the very least for comparison. 1

nathan Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 We are in the same boat at the moment, well slightly different as we're a MAT. I've been talking with a few over BETT. So theres ScholarPack that has already been mentioned. iSams which for us didn't offer the MAT tools and SchoolPod which for us looks the most promising so far.

This is a list I compiled from the BETT Show website: Hope it helps! Sephiroth Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 I would recommend that you look at iSAMS. We are currently a SIMS school, but are seriously considering migrating to iSAMS after several talks and a demo. 1
nathan Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Also, worth looking at Bromcom. Do they cater for primary to?
karldenton Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Absolutely, we're a large primary 450+ and use Bromcom for registers, data etc. 2
GREED Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 You should be aware that VS Ware no longer operate in the UK. Ireland only. Also, there are a number on that list that are not MIS products, such as TASC but feed data from an MIS.
CyberNerd Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I saw a good presentation from Arbour at BETT: Arbor Education Partners
bigdannyb79 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 RM Integris ? - The big positive mover in the MIS market is worth a look I've not seen it listed above or that what your already on ? Remember if your already on a cloud based MIS there are many costs over and above the license to consider for adopting an in house MIS. ISAMS looked great from my perspective but I wouldn't have said suited to primaries - although maybe their new iTeacher app would make it accessible enough ?

JATSO Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 Also, worth looking at Bromcom. Our current provider they want a lot for renewal £££.
rpwillis Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 There's also Arbor (already mentioned), Double First and Pupil Asset. 1
Bromcom-PR Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Our current provider they want a lot for renewal £££. This can not be right. Bromcom is one of the most competively priced MIS. Please call 020 8290 7171 and ask for Alex Williams to look into this for you.
hindertonhead Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 We have gone for Arbor, been using it for almost a year and very happy with it. Made savings reducing other products such as Parentmail. Staff and parents like it.
