Classroom Webdeny

To implement this every machine needs a client that talks to a server app. The machines are set with their proxy to this local app which in turn forwards all traffic to the real proxy configured via the server app or some other way.

 

To webdeny a classroom you pick it from the server app and this signals all the clients in that room to stop forwarding the traffic to the main proxy. Could also serve a web page stating this.

I'm using RPKiller. You can select which machines you want, and it denies access to I.E.

 

You can't even bypass it using "my computer"!

and you would find this item where? I dont see it in the essential software list and google just brings up a load of forum names.

I use Wingate for denying access to the internet, but it is expensive.

RPKiller is my HTA app, and IIRC is in the How Do You Do It? section and the Internet control thread. I think.

Are you trying to be able to block access from rooms full of computers? If so Lanview does this, Just group the computers up into rooms and you can disable/enable internet access per computer/group. It also allows you to flag up users who you want to keep an eye on.

 

Was trying to set it up so teachers could use it, but had to put it on the backburner with other work that has come in.
