HP have killed Procurve. You'll never guess what they did next.

That's a crazy move! Bonkers. I would've said ProCurve was a bigger "brand" than Aruba...

I would have to agree. Maybe the meeting where they decided this had gone on too long and they just thought they'd toss a coin and let fate decide so they could get on with whatever it is people with 6 figure salaries actually do..

Currently yes but if you had just spent an absolute fortune on buying a company how would you promote it. Very clever - by changing the name of the switches they can promote Aruba and let's face it the 2920's were great switches. Not only that if they re-badged Aruba WiFi as HP no-one would buy it as HP's offering is pretty awful and always has been! :)

A load of Procure kit was on my Santa list but will have to research / reconsider this now.

I don't like dealing with HP at the best of times as I always seem to get passed from pillar to post so if this has added another layer of hassle then they can do one!

Will be interesting to hear, as looking to replace our core/switching etc next year and was looking between HP and few others, so hopefully we'll get some clarification back from HP partners :)

Its just a rebrand. Procurve has already been gone for years. There are now HPE Switches running Comware aimed at the data centre nd HP Aruba switches (running Provision) aimed at Campus and enterprise. If anything this brings much more clarity to their offer. Edited by psydii

On a slight tangent, Has anyone found/noticed any cool features running both Aruba "HP" switches and wireless now? Or still no real benefit of doing both?

So,

HP once bought:

- Colubris WLAN which was the HP MSM line. So that one will be dead, right? i.e. no new products

- H3C WLAN/WAN/LAN. I couldn´t find an new H3C/Comware based WLAN products. So H3C based wifi is also dead, right?

- Aruba. That seems to be the future at HP for WLAN?

But what about licensing? It seems the Aruba controllers have different license types?

For the H3C/Colubris devies I had 1 license type for all features. Has anyone compared the pricing between H3C, MSM and Aruba wifi?

Update: I found Aruba´s pricing list myself:
