Iain.Faulkner Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Tiredness? Are the back holes harder? The back 9 (on paper at least) is the easier of the two 9's. In terms of the pars I made, I parred 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 16, 17 and then had bogeys on 1, 3, 4, 14 so they were pretty well spread out so I don't think tiredness was a factor either. Just lack of concentration I guess. 11 & 12 though are the two hardest holes on the course for me, 11 is a huge 460 yard par 4 which I cannot reach in 2 (I actually played the hole ok so was disappointed to get nothing) my third shot let me down and then made a mess of the hole from there. 12 is long and very narrow, and I struggle to get the ball straight and pulling my tee shot into some trees less than a 100 yards from the tee didn't help either. 1

Jordan1 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Had a 30 minute lesson tonight: AT Golf Coaching Player [3082353/ATPA] Looks good. I totally would recommend Alex at AT. Also didn't realise there was another edugeek in the area. 1

kennysarmy Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Just won myself on ebay a hybrid to try at the range over winter. Titleist 913 hd in 18 deg loft I rarely hit my 5-wood and 3-wood, just lost confidence with them off the tee and there are a number of holes at my course where I hit 4-iron for safety (bunkers and other hazards at Driver range) but would prefer something a bit longer.... Anyone else hit any 18 degree lofted hybrids?
AJWhite1970 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 (edited) 18 degree? My 13 wood has a 34 degree loft!!! I have a back problem that means I can't hit irons flat out so I carry 8 woods, 1,2,3,5,7,9,11 & 13. Best decision I ever made, much easier to use although I get a few odd looks when I pull out a wood on a 130yd par 3 but then I also play right putt left so I'm used to odd looks on the course Edited October 21, 2016 by AJWhite1970

kennysarmy Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Are they the new Ping iSeries irons? Very shiny :-) Yes with the Glide Wedges, 50, 54 (bent to 55) and 60 deg. They are n't so shiny now! 18 holes yesterday in damp conditions but greens surprisingly quick! 33 pts off 10 *yellow tees. Struggled with the Driver to start with and leaking right again, much better towards the last 6 holes. 27 holes on Friday! 1
kennysarmy Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 If anyone fancies 27 holes at the rolls of Monmouth tomorrow please pm me, we've had a drop out on a Ryder Cup style day.

kennysarmy Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 got yourself a solid looking swing there Kennysarmy. Thanks. Aim is to get to single figures next year!!!
kennysarmy Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Well the lesson thoughts seemed to help on Sundays 18 holes. I hit more fairways with the Driver and those I did miss, it was more a fade to the light rough than a slice to the deep forest! 14 points first 9 but 18 on the second. Considering the rain the course was in very good nick, a few bunkers were GUR and a couple of par 3's had mats to tee from but the fairways were remarkably dry. Range tonight, mainly long irons, hybrid and driver - working on getting the club dropped in behind me on the downswing and getting an in-to-out attack angle on the ball.... Is it spring yet?
Joanne Posted November 24, 2016 Author Posted November 24, 2016 I might visit the driving range this weekend. It's just got a short game area, so if the weather is OK might have a do at that!
kennysarmy Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 First monthly medal for me for a while, been having monthly lessons this winter and lots of range work, it's paid off - this week I shot the lowest gross of 78 and the lowest nett of 67 - CSS was 71 (Par 71) so I've been cut to 9.7!
kennysarmy Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 Is anyone else keeping an eye on the Ryder Cup today
AJWhite1970 Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 Yup, have my ipad with SkyGo on my desk today, will be watching all day I think the local knowledge of the course for the Europe team may well be the deciding factor this week
