mikkydoos Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Hi all, After some advice. Got loads of Ipads. Kids share them. a) What free app can I easily set up so kids can transfer photo's from the Ipad to several different class network shares - with the minimum of kids input - Primary - and non cloud based. (Or teachers input for that matter) (Or Mine!) b) Easy way to remotely delete photos and other cr@p that accumulates Cheers in advance
fairm010 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 a) We use HAP+ here, and it works really well! b) We dont. People delete the oldest pictures as needed.
Brimstone Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Nothing out there that is free that will be easy to configure or use by teachers and students I would strongly recommend looking at Foldr as this does exactly what you want, access to server network shares from the iPad. Welcome | Foldr - Free Your Files
Brimstone Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Before I get into deep water, click the link and email Minnow, there are free trials available, prices are tiered based on number of students you have on roll.
Edu-IT Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 There is also a Tablet Edition which may be a cheaper way to license it, if you don't need the full HTML5 interface / flinks etc. We use the Tablet Edition and it's pretty flawless.
steewy Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 We have QNAP NAS Server here. QNAP has an app called QfileHD and that's what the students use to send pictures/videos on the NAS server. At the moment, students do not have access to the QfileHD because they would upload to many pictures, only staff can upload to the NAS. The students AirDrop the files to the Staff iPad and then the teacher will upload the pics to the NAS.

I really wanted to hook up a single network share for each class that only they could access with a login. I might be expecting too much there!
Mr_Jiminy Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I believe is also possible with Synology NAS hardware, utilising their DS Photo app.
