ccadit Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 We currently use quite a dated version of SelectHR and we are thinking of replacing it Sage 50 HR looks very good from a price point of view, does anyone use it?? Can anyone recommend what HR software they use, ideally something that doesn't cost the earth. Thanks. Majahid
winng Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 We've recently started using Cintra HR, primarily as our Payroll provider but looking to make more use of the HR elements and reduce SIMS HR to the minimum needed to support the timetable, etc. 1
truebluesteve Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 We have just moved to a product called iTrent. Its all whistles and bells but boy does it cost to get it up and running. I suppose it depends how large your school is as the software will need to be scaleable and iTrent certainly is that.

Its what they use in Suffolk - they also provide it as a service to Academy outside of Suffolk - Home | Suffolk Schools Choice. 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 We use PeopleHR here. It's nice actually, all web based. We clock in on a tablet using a 6 digit id code when we get in and have a profile online that we can access at any time. It manages our hours, appraisals and various other work releated things. It can also be useds to push news out to all users which is a nice feature. I'm pretty sure its fairly cheap too 1
GTX Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 We are going to get Sage HR setup soon. Let me know what you think or if you run into any problems
ccadit Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 How soon are you expecting to set it up as we are still decided on what to use, if you get it setup anytime soon let me know of your experience with it.

Nice website... iTrent is a bit of an overkill for us I think but wasn't chosen by me but by the last HR manager, so we are stuck with it for the foreseeable future it would seem.
gshaw Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 iTrent for us too, just been installed and funny enough moved from SelectHR 1
ccadit Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 iTrent for us too, just been installed and funny enough moved from SelectHR was it expensive, as i've heard its supposed to be.
gshaw Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 was it expensive, as i've heard its supposed to be. Yup, it does seem to come at a premium but does do a lot. Should pay back in efficiency to some extent now all the paper processes are going online based
howartp Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Using Sage 50 Payroll for payroll; not sure about HR.
ccadit Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 Using Sage 50 Payroll for payroll; not sure about HR. How do you find their payroll software, just out of interest what do you use for HR.
howartp Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 How do you find their payroll software, just out of interest what do you use for HR. Payroll seems to work well. Install client on server, which installs .mdb's into a folder - share it, then install client on client PCs. I (currently) have to update it two or three times a year, which just means logging into each user's PC as an admin and running the regular exe and it pops up and prompts to upgrade. The first user you do it on also updates the database. I guess if I set software exceptions I could let users do the upgrade, but I haven't got around to that yet. I think HR is still with NYCC county's HR systems, which we access via a Citrix link. Peter
manc_techie Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I've just rolled out Tensor HR here, has an access management module so allows clock in/out via RFID cards and access control depending on job function. The Self Service portal is rather nifty too.
