hailstorm Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) Just spotted this on Ubiquiti's website. A complete new range of wireless APs: https://www.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-ac/ UniFi AP AC Lite (Passive PoE) - https://www.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-ap-ac-lite/ UniFi AP AC LR (Passive PoE) - https://www.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-ap-ac-lr/ UniFi AP AC Pro (PoE 802.11af) - https://www.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-ap-ac-pro/ UniFi AP AC Lite (PoE 802.11at) - https://www.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-ap-ac-edu/ New features: Spectral Analysis Band Steering Airtime Fairness The Edu version includes a speaker so you can setup a PA system. It's unclear if the spectral analysis feature now means channels and power are now automatically managed. Edited September 3, 2015 by hailstorm

synaesthesia Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Why, whats wrong with it? Works great for us (on the basic APs)
pow Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 They can't do it dynamically via group membership!
pete Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Is anyone using those ~roughly £12 adaptors to get UniFi APs to ingest non-passive PoE?
DalekSec Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Is anyone using those ~roughly £12 adaptors to get UniFi APs to ingest non-passive PoE? We used to use them but have since moved over to Unifi's own Toughswitches 1

nathan Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 do they need a controller now? Depends how you define Controller? There isn't a hardware controller but there is the controller software that comes free. I'm about to spec a new school with them, looking the AC lite versions which are only $150 each
newpersn Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Depends how you define Controller? There isn't a hardware controller but there is the controller software that comes free. I'm about to spec a new school with them, looking the AC lite versions which are only $150 each We have an old netgear wireless system which only allows 16APs per controller, As long we don't have to buy a controller just to use the APs. If its software based I'm guessing you just install it on a desktop / server and use it from there?!?
DrCheese Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Anyone managed to get hold of these yet? I want to buy a few to test out UniFi here & I'm waiting for these...
Gaz Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) Broadbandbuyer looks to have them in on the 7th of November. WiFi Access Points, Ubiquiti AC AP Series - broadbandbuyer.co.uk The strange thing about those prices in the UAP-AC-Pro(the new round one) is cheaper than their UAP-Pro(N) So whos going to buy the UAP-Pro(N) now... DMcCoy Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Remember to check the forums for caveats: Things currently not available: Band Steering Airtime Fairness Yes, that's the new features that they are being sold with, that are currently not available.
