Automatically Updated Clocks?

Hi folks,

 

Has anyone heard of a system that will synchronise a set of standard clocks across a school? e.g. using wireless.

 

I’m thinking of something other than the normal radio time signal clocks, specifically with a view to finding something cheaper, although I suspect this is unlikely.

 

We have around 60-70 clocks, but 30 or so are already the radio type.

Got to agree with this, I'm pretty sure we've got more clocks that are on the wrong time than on the right time. Even putting them near windows etc doesn't help, problems of a new build school with a lot of metal in the framework though.

The radio clocks seem really hit and miss, so much so that I think our site team have abandoned them as they ended up checking them or changing them manually anyway.

You could always get a atomic clock

Hire someone who's job it is to tell people the time, job title could be something like 'Lord Of Time', 'Timelord', 'Time Keeper' who would not want a job title like that!

Tell them the clocks on the wall are only a guide, They need to go the computer clocks to be really accurate and make sure NTP is working. Win 8 you can even add the time to the log on screen and there are apps to add it to win 7.

We have the radio clocks, but we also have a device that broadcasts that signal, and it gets it's time from NTP.

Usually a job for the caretakers - all IT devices use NTP - switches, wireless, Door Access, VOIP etc etc.
