aleach2 Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 So the general consensus is that TAPE is not longer used. Just using large external HDD's to back them up off site. Veeam seems like the overall winner here. Does anyone know if Veeam can do the "self restore" or "previous versions" like DPM does? If users right click --> Properties then they can restore back to a previous version themselves. Thanks Veeam v8.0 has a new feature called "Veeam Self Service File Restore" but we have never used it so I don't know what it is like or how good it is. We request all users to come to us for file restores. This feature is part of the Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager. There seems to be a video on it by Veeam: Self-service recovery for guest files and VMs Ad.
mikkydoos Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 We use the paid Veeam Backup and Replication (think its backup essentials the package) here to back our VMs up to two separate NAS boxes on a daily cycle, excellent piece of software for VMs and would recommend it. Veeam rocks. Saved my bacon a few times.
