What Wireless Access Points/kit do you use?

just about to order a new system - Ruckus looks wonderful and I have used it before at another school - it works really well but is expensive and if you have to add new APs then you can get caught with a new controller as well

 

We are going with UniFi - it seems much cheaper and does what we need - I doubt we really need the facilites of Ruckus and Cisco/Meraki seem way over the top.

 

I have had several people say stay away from Netgear

We use Meru here. A MC3200 controller and AP832e APs across the site.

Our schools have a mixture of Netgear, Ruckus, Meraki, Unifi and Meru. To be honest Meru and Unifi are the best in our experience, no problems with these and so easy to add additional AP's if required.

Yeah, but if you've got a Dell account manager it's worth having a word. Dell are partnering with another firm (can't remember - sales call last month) and my guy was a bit hungry for business.

+1 for Ruckus - great kit - access points are like cockroaches - you can't kill 'em.

One fell off the wall (was 10ft up) - top cover popped off when it hit the concrete floor; clipped it back on and it's fine.

Another one, the PSU (external) died, replaced it with a non-oem one and accidentally reversed the polarity:doh: - got smoke out of the AP; disconnected, corrected polarity, plugged back in and that's fine too.
