Great IT sales call. Not.

We just had a very stroppy IT company try to bully their way past our receptionist.

 

It was an unsolicited sales call and our receptionist is top notch at screening them out.

 

They were extremely rude to her.

 

They seem to have failed in their attempt to communicate with us....

 

Hence:

 

WE WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM YOU AND WE WILL TELL ALL OUR SCHOOLS IN OUR AREA TO DO THE SAME.

I don't know what's more concerning... that, or the fact that one sales rep started putting kisses at the end of her emails to me! All I asked her for was a quote on a couple of desktops! Wonder how many clients that works on...

I had one a few months ago who made it past reception and actually got hold of me. I told them politely where to go, at which point, they started a barrage of emails to various members of SLT (presumably found on the web-site) asking if I had the authority to tell him to foxtrot oscar.

 

Then he rang again, disguised his voice, asked for the finance dept, got put through to the Bursar's PA, who gave him fairly short shrift also!

Sounds like a right piece of work.

Honestly I can only assume these companies are MITM companies that prey on the unsuspecting. You ask them for a quote, they tell you CPC's price+10%, buy, relabel, ship on, make profit. I doubt they last very long, probably just hoping someone does a deal with them on a few servers or something really pricey they can cream off and then vanish, so there's no real loss in being an utter to everyone that tells them to shove it, as they'll be dissolved in 2 months anyway.
