That is stunning I love fujis colour rendition and that composition is spot on. the 23 and the 35 are on my wish list. Id love to see that printed maybe A3 if I was being super picky id remove the three tiny white lights in the centre but that would be just a personal preference and not meant in any way as a critisum (sp)

This was shot in RAW and converted to JPG using Adobe Camera RAW and then tweaked in photoshop so any colour rendering was done out of FUJI's hands - I rarely shoot JPG but from what I hear the colour rendition as you say is very accurate.

Shooting RAW for this shot gave me some artistic licence to really make the pink sunset colours pop.....

I haven't really got a proper camera but have recently taken stills on my GoPro of various things and have found I really enjoy just taking shots and tweaking them up in Lightroom, might look into getting an entry level camera just to get me started.

 

I got myself a second hand bridge camera off of ebay, good enough for what I'm doing at the moment.

All my pictures are on my home NAS, will put some up when I get home tonight.

Well, I've gone and done it. Thanks to @kennysarmy my wallet is lighter.

 

I've bought a Fuji X100S from the Fuji refurbish shop. It was a refurb, but it's as new and the shutter count is very low. I had an extra £50 off with a voucher. Second-hand ones are going on ebay for more than I paid, so I'm a happy camper.

 

Anyway, an X100S? Fixed lens? Yep. I used to own a Yashica T4 which was my point-n-shoot pocket camera, which had a fixed Zeiss 35mm. This Fuji is optically equivalent, but with f2.0. Some of my best B&W prints were done using my Yashica, so I know that focal length.

 

First impressions are excellent. I'm impressed with the film simulations, Fuji have done a lot of work here so don't overlook it. Fuji has a card up the sleeve: if you shoot RAW, you can 'process' the RAW in-camera later using the film simulations at a later time. Handy if you don't want to commit to a 'film' for a situation.

The OVF is a revelation for daytime use. However, the parallax focusing threw me for a while, but this website explains it better than the manual (which isn't very good)

Haha :p we got to...I blamed my purchase on the fact I busted my ankle so I need a non sport hobby until it heals :D good reason I would say!

I bought myself a second hand Nikon D80 and I'm still learning how to drive it (I am a complete novice when it comes to DSLR). I've just bought (again, second hand) a Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG APO Macro to go with it. I've been pleased so far but I'm still very much at the beginner stage, I joined the local camera club so will hopefully be able to pick up lots of tips and advice there.
