PhilNeal Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 A patch for this issue will be issued today - available on S2 & S3. 2
fiza Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 We just had our upgrade done. SLT disappointed that the Programmes of study is only available to Primary schools at the moment. Release notes are not clear about this!
lebowskii_98 Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Hi PhilNeal. With regards to the "remove report sections that contain no results" not longer working in Individual Reports in Assessment manager, I don't think this patch has been issued yet. Is this likely to be released soon? Could you give more details? Thanks.
PhilNeal Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) It was released around 15 mins ago so later than I'd been told. It could be your support unit hasn't made it available and you have to ask them. Edited April 22, 2015 by PhilNeal 1
vikpaw Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 So it's a workstation patch... Info here https://myaccount.capita-cs.co.uk/Notifications/SIMS-Assessment-Manager-Profiles-Report-Issue/ 1
MkII Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Is there a way to just deploy this to a couple of workstations?
lebowskii_98 Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Yep, it just comes as an exe which you can install on workstations you need it on.
fiza Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Is there a way to just deploy this to a couple of workstations? If you are talking about the main sims release 7.162 then you would use this to upgrade your sims server installation and then the work stations would get upgraded next time a user tries to use sims. This is with SOLUS2, with SOLUS3 you can push out the update to the workstations instead of waiting for a user to use sims. Either way its not possible to just upgrade a few workstations and keep the rest on a lower version as you will get "incompatible database" errors on the other workstations.
Marci Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I'm beginning to suspect that this patch has caused a further issue when your templates happen to contain a lot of results filtered to show most recent within a date range, rather than by resultset... ie: these results come up blank.

Apologies - I'm talking about the reports patch. It has just been added to our Solus 3 list. The estate has already been updated to Spring 7.162.23. Yep, it just comes as an exe which you can install on workstations you need it on. We don't appear to have an exe Edited May 6, 2015 by MkII
vikpaw Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 @mark - i'm not sure how SOLUS 3 works exactly, can you direct a patch to a certain machine? It might be forced to all machines. If you want to do it manually, follow my link to My Account, then follow the link for the fix guide which is a hastily cobbled together Word document which will give you the download link to the zip containing the .exe which you can apply manually to just the report creating machines if you like. We're not supposed to share the link / password here, you have to access through your support channel or Capita's My Account Support site. @Marci - please report it and double test, if there's still a flaw it needs some attention.
MkII Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Thanks Vic. We just decided to bite the bullet and deploy at 2:30 this afternoon. Resumed the scheduled job and it took me to a workstation selection screen!! Gah! All deployed and working on 3 admin PCs here. We have another problem but it could be local to us. Still working on that one 1
Marci Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 @Marci - please report it and double test, if there's still a flaw it needs some attention. In progress...! 1
Griff Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Bloody hell I am about to deploy tomorrow night, what we saying chaps/chapesses worth it?
vikpaw Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Bloody hell I am about to deploy tomorrow night, what we saying chaps/chapesses worth it? Depends on if you need to run any assessment reports - or edit the templates.
Marci Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Issue appears to be solely with one of our previous templates. Recreating it from scratch and problem vanishes. Sods law it's the biggest template we have. *eyeroll*
Griff Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Depends on if you need to run any assessment reports - or edit the templates. I believe we have got reports going out next week....anyway In progress
MkII Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Issue appears to be solely with one of our previous templates. Recreating it from scratch and problem vanishes. Sods law it's the biggest template we have. *eyeroll* Can you share what problems those were Marci? We have a problem with teacher signatures not appearing on half the reports.
Marci Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 We have a template which contains 5 or more aspects for every subject at Post16, set to show the most recent result or result description from within a date range. For some reason these don't work and I've had to set them all to filter by result set instead, but it only affects this one template. If I recreate the template from scratch it appears to work fine, so I'm stumped on that one! 1
danrhodes Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I rolled 7.162 out at 5 schools Wednesday night, so far so good. No issue to report.
winng Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I am rolling it out to four schools this morning. So far, two schools done with two to go
winng Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I am rolling it out to four schools this morning. So far, two schools done with two to go All four schools were successfully updated without any issues! A few support calls this morning requiring the computer being redeployed and all is well
CAM Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 (edited) Found a critical bug! I can't use Individual Reports as the Report Section tags are broken. Any free standing text or table cells which don't contain a dynamic tag are not hidden when selecting Hide Report Sections With No Data. Example, if I have an empty report section, the title of the subject and a table cell containing static text appears for all subjects whilst the table cells containing report data for which there is no result will disappear. This leaves pages upon pages of static text littering the report that should be hidden. Office 2010. Edited May 21, 2015 by CAM
winng Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 This is a known issue discussed elsewhere on this forum. Capita released a patch "SIMS 2015 Spring AM7 ad Profiles Report Tag Patch" via Solus3. 1
matt40k Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I would say this was a dummy job post - Source: - Test Analyst - Example Role - UK - England - Bedfordshire UK - England - Bedfordshire NA - but based on recent testing standards, I suspect they'll welcome pretty much anyone applying with a pulse.
