HP Server Warranty: Carepack.co.uk

Hi,

I recently had an email from a company called carepack.co.uk, who work in collaboration with HP for warranty related matters.

 

I was just wondering if anyone else had used them.

I have an old HP ML350 G5 which runs out of warranty in one month. They had all of the details for it and they are quoting £370 with vat to extend it for a year. Seems quite steep for an old server, wondering if there is a lower HP warranty package for this as it is not a mission critical server.

 

 

Has anyone used these guys, can you recommend them?

It is a link up between HP and Support Warehouse. You don't have to use them - you can get quotes for Carepack renewals from most of the usual suppliers (Misco, caeuk, Caretower, Softcat etc.) I got carepack to quote last year along with three other suppliers but they came in as the most expensive of all. I will let them have another go this year.

I got the same email for my DC and File server, a few weeks ago. I just went back to the supplier who sold me the servers in the first place and extended the warranty through them. They were cheaper than carepack.
