Office 365/2013 - Student Advantage/ProPlus free for staff

Hi Guy's,

 

I'm having no luck with my MS licence reseller last year or this year (as I purchased our renewals from different suppliers).

 

How do you set this up so that staff and students can access/download Office for free? Does anyone know where the links/guides/info are?

 

I've done dozen of searches and they all come back with "news" articles saying students can access it here, staff can access it there. But no where does it say how to sign up/register/implement.

 

As you can tell, this is starting to get on my nerves...

 

Any assistance that you guys can provide (even if it's just pointing me in the right direction) would be greatly appreciated

The resellers need to add the license keys for ProPlus to your account before you can sign up.

 

For example we're using:

 

Office 365 Education E1 for Faculty

Office 365 ProPlus for Faculty

 

Office 365 Education E1 for Students

Office 365 ProPlus for Students

Well you need to setup Office365 for your school. All schools will have:

 

Office 365 Education E1 for Faculty

Office 365 ProPlus for Faculty

 

Office 365 Education E1 for Students

Office 365 ProPlus for Students

 

It's for free. Once you have your school admin account enable just log on here.

 

In your admin console YOU need to create accounts for students and staff. Accounts can be automatically created if you use a tool (can't remember the name) that will sync your AD online and generate accounts for you. It is agains our school policy so I created the accounts manually.

 

Once the accounts are created, students will log on on the same page as your admin and will be able to access to Office365. Make sure when you create the accounts to grant a licence to the users.

We have a OVS licence for Office with Software Assurance, can we get Office 365? I was led to believe that we could when I placed the order but now I can't see where or how I access it. I've tried logging on to Office 365 but it says my account isn't recognised.

Thanks, but that doesn't really answer the question. That page just shows me how to get the free version of Office 365, which I assume we were entitled to anyway?

 

As we are fully licensed for Office 2013 can we get the full version of Office 365? I'm pretty sure that I was led to believe that you could if you have Software Assurance.

to get student advantage/whatever the staff one is called you need an ees subscription that includes office. Once you have that you need to get your reseller to add student advantage/staff one. Once that is done if you go to your vlsc you should see them show up under online activations. Pretty much LOG OUT of any office 365 accounts you have open in your browser then click through the wizard on vlsc. Once that is done you assign ofice365 pro plus licenses in office 365 admin centre as ADDITIONAL licenses to your e1 licenses (assuming you already have office 365 if noe you need to set it up even if you dont use it for email). Uerrs can then go to portal.office365.com and there should be a big install link there

the only issue ive had is when ms diddnt add it to vlsc and i had to phone them to get it there took a bit of head scratching but once your lics show up in vlsc its a 10 minute job (bar assigning lics and if you have a department field or similar set against pupils staff on office 365 assigning lics can be powershelled in a few minutes as well if not its just a dull select users by tickbox assign lics not hard just very dull
