adhutton Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Yes you can. However, we buy the second hand CISCO ones off eBay for like £10 each. Had a couple of duds, but most work fine - much cheaper than the £150 each or whatever they are new from CISCO. Andrew
3s-gtech Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I also get second hand ones from Ebay, genuine HP in my case. The last one was a couple of quid, bit different to the £100+ they cost new! Lifetime warranty means they get replaced next day if they fail too

We've had compatible GBICs which work to begin with but have had our switches go "LOL NO!" after a firmware update. 1
