TheMrB Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Hi all, I've gotten what some may call a promotion and i've been instantly handed a load of AV stuff that wants quoting for hardwarre and installation. Unfortuantely, I've only got a couple of companies I talk to regualrly about this kind of stuff. Now I'm doing it in an "official" capacity, I'm in need of more suppliers to get more quotes. I'm talking everything from PCs to whiteboards to projectors. Anyone got any companies they recommend and that they've had positive experiences with? Cheers. PS. Apologies for the post. al80 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 IDNS have always been good to us, their website's a bit lacking but they've always been helpful over phone or email, good at hunting down stock for us and usually offer good prices and they can source almost anything!! SoftCat are good too and cheap but they like to call you up a lot
RichCowell Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I wasn't going to reply until I saw a reply mentioning IDNS... I've just tweeted about them from my personal account this morning... We used them a few times years ago, but I've lost track of the number of times I've asked them to stop calling and to remove my school from their calling lists... Softcat have been the same but I think have actually removed me... I'd never use IDNS just because of that, and the similar comments I've heard from others over the years... 1

We've been an IDNS customer for a good 5 years now. Yes, they can call a bit much, but in my experience they stopped when I asked. Their prices and service more than make up for that problem though to be honest. They manage to give us the best price about 90% of the time - and we are very fussy when it comes to price. I have also used Millgate, VeryPC and ICT Direct too. All are excellent. Millgate's only failing has been they often come in more expensive than IDNS. We've only used VeryPC for their own machines so far, but they offer superb service and amazing pricing. ICT Direct are great if you want something that's good quality but without the painful price. I use @Millgate an increasing amount and Virtue Technologies a lot for various things, and just putting a small order together for @ICTDirect_Dave - used to use Insight a lot, but not had a decent account manager there for years so I tend not to bother with them as much nowadays...
