I have an HP1000 Business Inkjet at one of my schools.

It just works.

Day in - day out.

Add paper and ink

Thats it.

I like to nominate it for a Edugeek Equipment Lifetime Achievement award

I have an EGA CRT which was installed in 1987 for the telephone system (which was top of the line back in the day), the system as a whole, not failed us since then as per my understanding, and works without issue even to this day.

I would like to nominate my Cisco 3550 12G core switch, installed 2002 under a 10 year strategic development plan and is still going strong nearly 3 years after its required service date (nearly 13 years) plus all the other Cisco edge switches.

Happy Day's :)

Our BT/Norstar phone system with fancy Startalk module gets mine. Not sure when it was installed, but have a feeling it was 1992 or thereabouts.

This does not give it permission to blow up shortly though.

I'd like to nominate my old G4 server, though not quite of the G1 vintage. Bought it about 5 years back for £40 off eBay, arrived dented in a knackered old box, stuck a bundle of old drives in it and from then on it's moved racks a few times, been dropped a few times, and just sits in the server room working and serving me files. All the time.

GOBBLES electricity, but fair play to 'Spanky' my first ever Linux *spits on the floor* fileserver.

You're all tempting fate! I'd like to nominate my 6 year old software raid 5 setup using western digital greens, still going somehow on the original drives........

A mechanical Dell OEM keyboard that I have at home. WASD may be completely faded but it is continuing to serve me well in everything from old days in Vanilla WoW to new days in Elite. :D
