I watched a senior member of staff run to his car in the pouring down rain using his Macbook Pro as a rather expensive umbrella.

So ridiculous, you have to laugh (or cry).

So what's the worst case of IT misuse that you have experienced from staff?

Just purchased some 70" C-Touch boards to replace Smartboards/Projectors. Walked into the classroom last week to see there using them as a display board with bluetac everywhere! Was literally gobsmacked.

Had a couple of instances in my time in role of Promethean whiteboards being written on with permanent markers by invigilators to date, had to get some proper industrial standard cleaner to not knacker the surface.

I thought it was the Iphone upgrade that made your device waterproof.......

i had a kid take a hissy fit and place an iPad on the floor and decide to jump up and down on it...

and the boss' macbook has a hefty dint in the side from her manhandling the laptop in her bag - I'm amazed that thing still works

We had one user inform us his laptop screen was cracked. Went to it later that day only to find it buried beneath a stack of files and a heavy document case. Apparently the member of staff 'always dumps them' on his laptop to hide it?!?!?!

Another complained his laptop wasn't working properly and always overheating, only for us to find that he used it next to a wood milling machine and it was so covered in sawdust the poor thing was coughing up its last breath.
