Personally, I don't use anything other than an occasional anti-dandruff shampoo.

I wonder what @StevieM and @VeryPC Al do?

Yeah - washing it at the same time as my hair is about as productised as my beard gets I'm afraid.

oil? for beards? Mine get's Head and Shoulders at the same time as the bonce. And quite often Colgate too, depending on how sloppy I get with the toothbrush.

I don't need help with that, my beard has far more white hairs in it than my hair. I'll be like my old man, I'll be entirely grey by 40.

Another one to only give it a wash with some 2 in 1 shampoo when I have a shower, and give it a quick trim twice a week to keep it relatively tidy...

 

Not quite sure what oil is meant to do to your beard except make it slightly greasy...

The WHOLE POINT of a beard is that it saves from having to waste 5 mins a day f@rting about with grooming; isn't it? My beard is 35 years old this summer, and I've never felt any urge to oil it.

 

Your beard is older than me! But I've taken to anti-dandruff shampoo in a zero-effort sort of way as I rub the thing all day and make it dandruffy. It also gets sweaty from the gym and acquires bits of snacks throughout the day too.

 

I shave neck and cheeks and the bits that grow out of wacky places and generally it smells nice and behaves.

Supposed to make it soft, and also help to avoid dry skin issues that some people (like me) can get. Also smells nice (at least according to the missus) so can be an alternative to aftershave.

 

I even wax mine now and then for special occasions. Don't see any problem whatsoever with a bit of grooming.
