Flashes ain't no guarantee you've found the right device if you've already found one unexpected mystery machine device, that's why I reckon you need a laptop with you doing the pings so you know when you've found the right one. Shouldn't take too long if you make yourself an engineer's cable: Get a network cable Snap the plastic clip off one end ??? ProfitEasily switch between patch ports without fiddliness 1

localzuk Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I'd recommend the Greenline NetCat Pro, plus a probe such as the Mills Tempo Digalert Probe (although, that one seems too expensive). A pretty good tester, which can also generate tones, combined with a probe. Its what we use here.

It came with my ByteBrothers PocketCAT 200 cable tester which is also brilliant. Now, tell me more about this doom song...?

mac_shinobi Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Think If I was you, I'd stick to your original plan, whack a pc on the other end ( where that switch would normally connect to ) so am presuming the lighter grey coloured cable and then see which port number lights up active and see which port number on the switch is patched into what port number ..... as stated above this will give you your answer unless you order and invest in a port tester tool ( again as stated and suggested above )
