Education | Free Software For Students, Educators and Schools | Autodesk Anyway, we have installed it and figured I would just share the love. As we all love free software! Totally free and works far better than our old antivirus which cost us £3000 a year! A bit tricky to use to start with but for free I won't be complaining! Avast Free for EDU | Free antivirus software for academic/school use Anyway, we have installed it and figured I would just share the love. As we all love free software! How did you get that? I thought it was USA only (that's what it still says in the FAQ).

Unfortunately we in the UK don't meet this criteria so how did you get past this?

Do you plan to launch your free software for EDU for any other countries? We introduced the program in the USA first to test the user demand in one of the most advanced environments possible. Yes, we do plan to offer the same program to other countries, if we see enough compelling demand in the pilot market.

I don't know whether I'm delighted that I can look so good for free or annoyed that it's going to be lots of work, but it seems too good an offer to keep to myself.

Check the documentation here, it changed in May. http://download.autodesk.com/us/support/files/Autodesk_Education_Europe_ARC_Customer_FAQ.pdf Autodesk rock for this - I know there are sound business reasons, but it's awesome nevertheless.
