AceDaz Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Hi I have 1 user here who is getting a wobble type thing when playing a video / dvd from their laptop. It is similar to interference on a old style TV if you have the sound up very very high. The setup is 1 laptop at 1 side of the classroom and a projector on another, projecting to a wall mounted whiteboard with wall mounted speakers. The teacher received a new Dell laptop after the summer and he has said he has not noticed it before. You can see the interference on the laptop as well, so it is not projector related and he is using it in a extended desktop environment with the extended desktop (the screen where he plays the videos on) running at 1024x768. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks
win Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 You've probably got a ground loop (electrical interference). You can get a gadget from maplin to resolve these issues.
AceDaz Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 Would this show up when playing videos?
AceDaz Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 Is there any chance you could help pointing me in the right place? I have had a quick look but to no avail Thanks You've probably got a ground loop (electrical interference). You can get a gadget from maplin to resolve these issues.
Oaktech Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Is it just with a DVD? have you tried with an external DVD drive? I'm wondering if something is out of true and it's vibration causing it.
AceDaz Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 They use mainly Online content or a local Video file, when I investigated the problem I was playing a video clip. win Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 You can test it by unplugging the laptop power supply and see if it still occurs while running on battery. If not then you have electrical problems which can be sorted with one of these: Ground Loop Isolator | Maplin Or something similar from whoever you have an account with
