Morning all

I have a homehub 4 at home and it's a bit rubbish. Can anyone recommend me a new router for home please that can be used on a BT infinity line.

Cheers

Well hole thing is a bit rubbish. Wireless on phones and iPads just drops out at random times but you still have full signal.

Sky on demand is stop and start at times too

Cheers I'll take a look at those options

I've been with BT Infinity for about 3 years now and whilst things were great for the first 18 months, I soon started experiencing drops in speed and wi-fi issues. I was positive it was the homehub that was at fault but BT insisted it was some other device in the house causing interference. After countless phone calls moaning to BT they finally caved in and sent me a replacement homehub (v3). Again this seemed ok for a month or so then the speed drops started happening again. Having finally reached my wits end with it I ordered an Asus RT-N66U and never looked back. Both signal and speeds have been rock-solid since installation, so I'd have no hesitation in recommending them.

Homehubs are the devil's work. I don't like BT's method of pushing firmware updates onto them without your knowledge. Who's to say they're not 'breaking' the older model homehubs with a firmware upgrade (throttling bandwidth) to encourage you to spend £50 upwards buying the latest model!!

Draytek ... :p or a Watchguard with PFsense on lol.

Generally, Home routers have the same insides its how they are managed that makes the difference. I've found that some of the best routers have been Technicolor, TP-Link and Zyxel.

Interesting as we've been experiencing issues with our homehub 3 - but the dragon thought it was due to an update on her phone.. but then we only have a couple of wireless devices attached the rest are wired.
