Bompalompalomp Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 The only presents I've ever received were from a few of the kids! Staff promise lots of alcohol. They never deliver though.
3s-gtech Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) That was their own chocolate - it had just got a bit warm so they popped it next to the gap in the door to get some cool air from the air-con. Obviously the card was then there just to ask an unrelated favour. Eat it quick! Edited October 2, 2014 by 3s-gtech
Dkeen94 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I havent ever been given a present! I have had a couple of nice thank you emails from departments at my old place of work, its always good to know the work is appreciated!
Badzeye Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I keep all my thank you cards pinned up on the wall above my desk. After nearly 4 years of employment I have amassed 5 cards!
Garacesh Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 The only presents I've ever received were from a few of the kids! Staff promise lots of alcohol. They never deliver though. I have had 2 incidents with members of staff and alcohol. One asked me my preferred drink and I said I'm a whiskey man, so she said she'd get me a bottle of JD as thank you. Still waiting on that. Can't even remember what I did for her at this point. Not particularly fussed, but it's a little bit blah that she offered and didn't follow through. I'd rather she didn't offer - It's not like I do this job to get given booze! The other was panicking she wouldn't have a presentation ready in time for one of our staff members leaving assemblies. It was a slow day so I offered to finish it for her (she had all the content but couldn't figure out some of the powerpoint functionalities like splicing music etc). Without any announcement, she showed up in the office later that day with 2 big bottles of Budweiser. That was nice That was their own chocolate - it had just got a bit warm so they popped it next to the gap in the door to get some cool air from the air-con. Obviously the card was then there just to ask an unrelated favour. Eat it quick! Seconded. Comms room air con is great for resolidifying melted chocolate. £20 says the card mentions a staff members' kids' laptop I keep all my thank you cards pinned up on the wall above my desk. After nearly 4 years of employment I have amassed 5 cards! 1.25 cards per year, on average. Good going! In almost 3 years I have received a grand total of zero.
