ID badges/visitor register etc... How do you roll?

Hello,

I have a request to provide a new system for doing visitor ID badge and registration for a new reception are.

Scope is still not exact as I don't know for example if they want to include teachers signing in and out as well as visitors, but I expect so...

We use bio store for the tills here but I thought their stuff looked - no offence to them - a little clunky for what is a new swanky reception :)

So, was wondering what others might be using. I'm thinking ipad on a stand type thing that can register visitor and staff coming and going and ideally print basic ID on the fly to some kind of label maker style unit behind reception desk.

If there's something out there that would allow them to take a selfie and have someone in reception print it on the ID that would be good.

I don't think we need any integration with SIMs, I would prefer standalone but if there's products that do it would be worth a look.

Going to start trawling today...

Inventry worked well when I saw it.

Ben

We have it. Not a fan, they didn't want the screens to be on the domain. They didn't want us installing Windows updates on the machines. Also they refuse to run the server stuff on an actual server or virtual machine. The software isn't that reliable either.

We use Inventry here. It works well for visitors and logging which staff are in or out for use in a fire. It doesn't have an ipad version I think but it runs on a little PC and touchscreen in reception.

We use a very low-tech solution, consisting of a ring binder, which contains some visitor logging forms and a plastic pocket of visitor stickers, which are professionally printed, so it's not as low tech as it could be!

Same here - in both schools

We use one called 'TimeNet' which also links into the fire alarm system. It's not amazing, visitors still have to sign in a log book and then get issued with a visitor generic ID card. Staff get proper ones assigned with photos on. We have to swipe in and out at the start and end of the day.

One of my schools has Inventry and my other school is having it fitted next month. The only issues they have with it is it doesn't print the register when doing a fire drill only pupils who have booked in through the system that day.

We built a system, web based. Simple signing in form for visitors, sign in app for support staff. The visitors sign in on a touch screen tablet which spits out a label from a Brother QL-570, and staff swipe their ID cards on a separate dedicated machine. The list can then be quickly printed during a fire drill.
