Hi

I am trying to deploy our new proxy.pac file via gpp and this is not applying. i think the issue is with ie 10 and 11? We are running windows 7 and server 2008 R2. Please can you tell me how you are doing this? I would like the settings as in the attached if possible?

Thanks proxy_settings.png

I think this comes under the same issues that people have been having on here since Windows 8 was released - Server 2008 R2 cannot natively managed GPP for IE 10 or IE 11. There are hundreds of threads on here about it. Your options are:

Do a search on here for 'proxy settings IE11 server 2008 r2' then:

Get a Server 2012 R2 DC or

Install RSAT on a Windows 8.1 PC or

Modify your GPP XML file to support IE11 or

Stick with IE9.

Have you thought about changing it from a .pac file to a wpad.dat file? Same file contents but you distribute it via DHCP.

All you need on the machines is the auto detect tickbox switched on. Let me know if you want instructions for the setup

You can also do this by browsing the sysvol file and getting internet settings.xml open in notepad find version and just change to 99. This works fine.
