how did you get the "Office 365 Education Plus for Students/Faculty" added to your tenancy? It wasn't until I had spoken to the Microsoft contact I met at BETT and he activated it for me that I was able to get it added into the tenancy therefore allowing my staff to self sign up.

The licenses automatically appeared one day last year. The same thing happened to @FN-GM...

Yeah, I've had a tenancy both with and without Office 365 Pro Plus for a long time, but the Education Plus licenses just didn't appear on either until the Microsoft Rep added them in for me.

The Education Plus licenses appeared on their own for us but had to request ProPlus.

 

While you're asking for licensed get Azure RMS while you're at it, worth it to have encrypted email functionality.

We don't actually use the email at the state school as we use the LGfL Staff Mail, but I'm using it at my other school. Is the Azure RMS free as well?

Yup, will eventually be part of the Office 365 Education license but in the meantime can be added on in the same way as ProPlus

I've never signed our school up to it but I went to https://portal.office.com/start?sku=faculty and entered my school email and they accepted it, maybe because our email addresses end in .sch.uk they are pre-approved.

No, our school domain also ends in .sch.uk, but wasn't pre-approved. It would make sense to pre-approve all .sch.uk domain names!

As it was explained to me, the licenes are free but resellers can't add a zero cost line to the order so have to charge a penny on the annual renewal, *not* per month. Always good to chat to a couple of resellers on these things though

Thanks. Our licenses are purchased through the LA who speak to the reseller so this is adding to the confusion too.

 

I'll push on and make a point that they are free, I don't mind paying a penny per license as I did last year but not every month.

 

If I don't get anyway where I'll certainly be speaking to other sellers.
