nicholab Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Hi our hp switch does not like our snlogy Nas it keeps shutting down the port any suggestions?
pantscat Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Is it shutting down because of too many RX errors? Tried a new patch lead? :-)
nicholab Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 Been changed to a new cable works when directly connected to laptop.
pete Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 What do the logs (show logging) on the switch say? It should give a reason why it shut down the port. Then look into the fault-finder sensitivity settings (show fault-finder) if the NAS itself isn't doing anything dumb.
Oaktech Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 i've been noticing this a bit recently actually, certain devices struggle to negotiate a link with... throttle the port down to a fixed data rate, say 100mbps full and see if it stays up. If it does, go up to 1000full and see if it still stays up.
southhamster Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 We have a qnap 264l and found it would not talk to our cisco sg300 switch.a crossover csble did the trick! It may well be that a firmware update would fix it but we didn't have time to investigate further.
