Brimstone Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 It isn't. So do I want them phoning me up to give me tips on the 3:30 at Towcester? How about if they move to into bathroom sales and phone you up at work hoping to sell you domestic bathroom furniture? How about that as soon as they phone you, perhaps before, they enter your details into their companies CRM system so from then on, you get pestered every week by another department? Where exactly do *you* draw the line? Sure and I suffer from a particularly memorable name. I'm an easy target for even the poorest memory. Because it is unfair to their old employer/business? Because it is unfair to me in the treatment of my information which I have legal rights to expect data processors to comply with? Because it demonstrates that the other party is at best unprofessional and at worst a criminal and my judgement was obviously previously poor? I don't view salespeople as demons, they have a job to do and it is a job we need done. I do want them to behave professionally and legally when it comes to them handling my personal data. If they demonstrate they do not, then I will not deal with them any more. Why would I take on risk like that (assume risk on behalf of the organisation I work for)? I don't want people to go "above and beyond". I want to do business with people who's normal quality of service and supply offers the best value and with people who treat my data with some respect. Is that too much to ask? You must be paranoid, at the end of the day people buy goods from people not companies.
chris_uk Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Those of you who enjoyed working with Richard for his non pushy sales and knowledgeable skill set, I've just found out he is working at a different company. I've already been using him and the pricing is something I am very pleased with. Simcfc73 Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 Might give it a try, I only do online as I hate people so it looks good. PS.Still getting a overdue letter from Misco even though we told them the reason why, they ignore emails now when emailing accounts@.... at least they aren't threatening court anymore.

jonnykewell1 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I too have been getting these letters for a few months now. Our finance assistant sent payment with the wrong order number, but we managed to trace the transaction, the date and provide the correct order number to resurrect the problem. Since then I have heard nothing but still keep getting the letters.

Exact same issue - finance resolved it about a year and a half ago, with pretty much the same cause - i never had these issues with my old account manager at the helm but then again from this thread it looks like they have outsourced recently so...
pcstru Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 You must be paranoid, at the end of the day people buy goods from people not companies. Paranoid no. When a company fails to deliver, we 'sue' the company, not the individual sales person. When a salesperson leaves a company, we still expect the company to deliver, we don't say "Oh well, never mind, we were dealing with X so it's understandable you can't deliver on their promises after they leave". On the issue of salespeople walking off with data from their employers - while the fines are generally low, it is a criminal offence and can lead to a criminal record. https://ico.org.uk/about-the-ico/news-and-events/news-and-blogs/2014/09/leaving-for-a-new-job-don-t-walk-off-with-personal-information-warns-ico/ It is worth remembering that a subject access request under the DPA not only obliges a company to disclose what data they hold on you, but it requires them to disclose how that data came into their possession.
