Fleetwood Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Well, despite chaining my wallet into a nuclear bunker on Mars, I caved in and went a bit mad: Assassin's Creed Revelations, Brotherhood + 3 Battlefield 2 (Complete) + Battlefield Bad Company 2 (+ all DLC) Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (+ all DLC) Train Simulator 2014 (come on, you all want it really and for a fiver I couldn't refuse.. even if it took me an entire hour before I worked out how to move the bloody thing) DiRT 3 Dead Island (+ Riptide) Rollercoaster Tycoon 1, 2, 3 (deluxe editions etc.) Not bad for a total of £40-ish though, even if I know that I probably won't ever play them like the other 90% of my library! Clearly I have way too much time on my hands..
Novalee Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) I got... Tropico 4 Collector's Bundle, Prison Architect and Banished. Have been hooked on Prison Architect over the weekend... I did have a lot more in my basket, but I already have a pile of codes that I haven't used yet, so made myself transfer them to my wishlist instead... @nephilim - what's Europa like? that's one I transferred to wishlist. Grey-gear Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 This time round I got: Game Developer Tycoon Mass Effect Collection I may get a few more as well if get time today

It's good. It's hard if you haven't played a paradox game before. But it's the easiest of the series to do. World conquest is doable as any nation provided you know the mechanics.
SiliconAlley_Sam Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Anno 2070 currently £4.99, ends in 1 hr 44mins. Superb game. I love Anno! Has anyone played DayZ?
Sdrawkcab Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I love Anno! Has anyone played DayZ? Yes. The standalone edition is a horrible buggy mess which shouldn't have been released to the public. It's billed as "early access", but it should really read "unfinished alpha". I'd wait for the full release if I were you.

I do think the DayZ Standalone is almost unplayable! I wouldn't recommend the only alpha game I can recommend it Rust thus far.
flyinghaggis Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I haven't purchased the standalone version of day Z yet but I've seen vids and my feeling is that Dean 'Rocket' Hall has simply pocketed all of the cash made from the standalone and has no intention of 'finishing' it. It's been in development for years now and there's very little progress to speak of. It makes me wonder how large his dev team is as the impression is that there are literally one or two programmers and artists working on it. He's made millions up front and I can't help but feel this isn't being re-invested in the game unfortunately.
featured_spectre Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I picked up dayz standalone in a flash sale for £3.99 a while back. If they don't improve it I've not invested much into it. If they do, then brilliant.
DMcGuigan Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I started out well, hadn't bought a thing... then pay day happened. Ended up with: Octodad: Dadliest Catch Space Engineers The Fall Deus Ex: GoTY Deus Ex: Invisible War System Shock 2 (Modded the life out of it ) Risk of Rain Shadowrun Returns (+DLC) Grim Dawn Ultrabundle (a few indies from some company who's name have escaped me.. they did Titans Attack) Defy Gravity Pineapple Smash Crew Retro/Grade Marlow Briggs Total spend of around £50.. not too bad. I'll probably never play any of them, but hey, cheaps.
localzuk Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Space Engineers is amazing. I've spent far too much time playing it. My list is: Tropico 5 Space Engineers Age of Mythology DisplayFusion That's my lot. I already have 200 games, 90% of which I've still not played...

I went all out troll with Space Engineers.. accidentally launched a friends work in progress towards an asteroid (he didn't have any thrusters etc on it), sped off after it, got it running, stole it and used it to hijack a mining ship. Then smashed that into his mini asteroid base resulting in a rage quit. 10/10 would grief again. I've got enough to keep me going for the rest of my life Steam DB But bundles are a truly awesome thing
Griff Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 oh my god I missed out on the sale been in the dark for a few days/weeks whatever space engineers looks so funny...how much was it in the sale?

"A game on Steam" ) but that sounds hilarious.

You're an astronaut who can mine asteroids and raid mining convoys for materials to build and expand space stations and ships. They're working on the survival mode at the minute, but we're just playing about in creative. I hollowed out an asteroid, threw a few gravity generators in there and I've now got my own little floating base. oh my god I missed out on the sale been in the dark for a few days/weeks whatever space engineers looks so funny...how much was it in the sale? £10.04 I believe.

Its amazing for such an early alpha release. They're very active developing it too, with new things appearing pretty regularly. I fully expect it to become the next big indie game, like Minecraft.

Fleetwood Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Is it easy to build a spaceship? If so then TAKE MY MONEH
localzuk Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Is it easy to build a spaceship? If so then TAKE MY MONEH Yeah, a basic one is just 6 thrusters, a cockpit, reactor and gyroscope... Then from there, the sky's the limit!

DMcGuigan Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Is it easy to build a spaceship? If so then TAKE MY MONEH Pretty much, the one I err... appropriated was four blocks right, two up, then two left.. essentially a J shape. Slapped a thruster on it, an engine, a gyroscope and a cockpit. I could only fly one direction, but that's all I needed. The HMS Troll was moving well enough before it met it's target.
localzuk Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Yeah, we all said that about Starbound.. look how that turned out.. True. There have been a glut of "early access" games which have left people disappointed because they suddenly stop development (Cube World, I'm looking at you).
SiliconAlley_Sam Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Must buy Age of Mythology! Mini-me spent many an hour on that and Age of Empires.
