andyturpie Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Looking for a alternative to CC4 anywhere/Citrix as it is the route we want to go down, but we need to know of any alternatives and their cost? Can anyone give me any feedback, as I am struggling to find anything of value on line.... Thanks!

FN-GM Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 You could do it with either XenApp or XenDesktop. XenApp is like Terminal server, XenDesktop is a dedicated VM for the user. Have a look at VMware View. Its not as good as Citrix, but cheaper. Also there is the out of the box Microsoft solution?

How much is your current cc4 solution costing you? 1
localzuk Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 The question is, do you need full virtual desktops or is a shared environment acceptable? Reason I ask is that if the latter, I'd simply recommend using RDS on Server 2012, with RDS Gateway running for the web access. 1

Jasbo Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 + 1 for 2x software, we use it for remote access gateway service, lots of features and has proved very reliable and has reasonable licensing and support costs.
