Print Management - Papercut

Ok, so there are many good threads on here regarding Papercut and it's benefits We were previous users until around 18 months ago, when we made a (forced) switch to Equitrac due to new MFD's etc coming in. Since it's installation, we've had question marks over it's ability (or inability) to cut down costs, or manage printing effectively. I am trying to convince our FD to move forward with Papercut (as well as linking it to our biometrics system), however, for Papercut MF and the add-ons etc, it is a large amount of money.

 

Can anyone (or a few kind souls), if they have the spare time, write a fairly comprehensive report of their use of Papercut and the cost savings it has brought to their institution, so I can present it as well to our FD to highlight Papercut's good features etc.

I'm not asking someone to write the report for me...just a report on their own usage (a paragraph is fine), so I can take it to further back-up my claims that Papercut can reduce costs and help save money within our school!

Here's a quote from a report I recently presented to our Governors. We were a 'free for all' printing school with no print management whatsoever running off 4 photocopiers and 12 laser printers.

Photocopiers

The photocopier contract with XXXXXX has been terminated and balance for the remaining term of the contract cleared.

Four new copiers have been installed controlled by PaperCut - a centralised print management suite.

The alteration of the reprographic infrastructure has dramatically reduced costs and wastage of toner and paper. Saving on physical printing output is approximately 60-70% with an approximate reduction in cost of 50% compared to the previous six months.

Staff training has been delivered both in-house and by vendor support.

XXXXXX have demonstrated an exception level of support thus far.

Copiers were installed at projected cost.

We use Equitrac, it isn't what software you use, it is the policies that you apply that will deliver the benefits. We feel that we have exceptional control over the printing in terms of quotas for individual students (determined after 12 months of monitoring), additional credit for students charged to faculties, faculty printing quotas, monthly billing and invoices, pricing incentives to persuade and encourage good printing behaviour, and other policies both organisational and through Equitrac rules that discourage poor printing behaviour.
