creese Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Please tell me you're going to take SOLUS 2 and open source it so we can keep on using it ..or you could package each update into an MSI Nothing like that, It's more training on anything from using a mouse to how to decorate a wedding or novelty cake... both of which I can do.
minimoo Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Just done the new summer update - it fixes the assessment manager issues, but the custom report definition we have that worked up until we deployed the first summer release is still giving wrong output for us. So time to ring Capita and see whether they think there's a bug somewhere or a change in behaviour that was planned.
TheScarfedOne Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Please tell me you're going to take SOLUS 2 and open source it so we can keep on using it ..or you could package each update into an MSI @PhilNeal told me last year that MSI and patch updates are coming soon. My guess is that this will be Solus 3.8, which I know has some new inline patching features...
matt40k Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Cool - enjoy. I'm sure you'll be back, just like matt40K - he SIMSply cant resist HAHA!!! My mistake wasn't moving far enough anyway, my new team is on the other side of the room - I can still hear them moaning!!

creese Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 HAHA!!! My mistake wasn't moving far enough anyway, my new team is on the other side of the room - I can still hear them moaning!! they wouldn't give me a new team, so I'm off to find one
matt40k Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Yer, its like my dad and tea. If I put the kettle on he appears.
PhilNeal Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I'm afraid that we came unstuck with producing MSIs. We employed a specialist company but they failed to deliver.
creese Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I'm afraid that we came unstuck with producing MSIs. We employed a specialist company but they failed to deliver. I'm not volunteering, it's not my area of expertise. I'll bake you a capita cake :-) Wheat & Gluten free. :-)
TheScarfedOne Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I'm afraid that we came unstuck with producing MSIs. We employed a specialist company but they failed to deliver. Eeeek, Im sure that has cost them some! Looks like the new patch functions in Solus 3.8 will be better anyway...and the new deployment handling too. Ooooh @creese...cake....
creese Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Ooooh @creese...cake.... Past Creations | Mr T Cakes site still under construction. 1
Asomodai Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Has anyone had this distributed to you yet? I got told it wont be until the summer holidays.
localzuk Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Yup. Was deployed here by our support team on Friday night.
zag Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Yeh installed last night. Other than Solus 3 deployment issues it is fine.
IT_Man_Dan Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Morning, I ran the updates last night through Solus 3 and this morning they all say successful, however, looking through the deployment history there was no workstation deployments and all our workstations are still running 7.156 not 7.159? Am I right in thinking they should be running 7.159??? Thanks
IT_Man_Dan Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Ignore my last post, when checking I noticed that although it said successful it had no deployment targets. Ran it again and it's now deploying to everything. Cheers
Theblacksheep Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I'm afraid that we came unstuck with producing MSIs. We employed a specialist company but they failed to deliver. Would you allow the posting/redistribution of SIMS client MSI to edugeek?
matt40k Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Considering most of Capita business logic is client side, ie their intellectual property, I doubt they would want it posted on a public forum for anyone to download. You might have a better chance if you say SupportNet. Still unlikely to happen however.
