[h=2]SIMS 2014 Summer Release update[/h]

We have completed our investigations into the outstanding problems raised with the SIMS 2014 Summer release and can confirm that we will be issuing a new SIMS 2014 Summer release to resolve these issues.

 

An updated SIMS 2014 Summer 2 (7.159) release will be made available by COB Monday 7^th July.

It will incorporate fixes for the following areas:

 

• Reporting Engine.
  Reports with a blank column in a sub report cause the report to error when it is run.
  
• Assessment Templates.
  Assessment Templates that are exported from the Summer release cannot be imported if the Template includes Aspects with supporting Result Sets.
  
• Assessment Reports.
  If an Individual Report is run with the option ticked for “Hide Rows with no Results”, the report will still display the row but it will be blank.
  
• Post 16 Return.
  The Post 16 return crashes if you select to open a Learning Activities record where the medium field for the Learning Activity is blank.
  

We recommend that all sites upgrade to this release. We will be de-authorising the original Summer release from sites immediately to prevent them from upgrading to the incorrect version.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this might cause.

Update 07/07/2014

 

 

We have successfully completed our work resolving the 4 fixes mentioned previously however we have decided to hold off releasing the Summer 2 update tonight whilst we investigate reports of failures with Timetable imports from Nova-T6.

 

 

We are aware that many of you will want to complete your roll-out of the Summer release before the end of term but we hope you will understand that we cannot risk any errors in the timetable import at such a key time of year.

 

 

I will post an update tomorrow morning (Tuesday) on SupportNet.

 

 

We apologise for any inconvenience that this delay might cause.

Update 08/07/2014

We have completed our investigations and have resolved ths problem.

The ETA for the SIMS 2014 Summer 2 release is by COB today (Tuesday 8th July).

 

I will post an update to Supportnet when it is complete.

This will be the 2nd release - we'll be applying it tonight if it comes out. I'm hoping it gets released soon so I can deploy before the helpdesk go home for the day

I think I'll just keep watching and waiting until the dust settles. No rush to install Solus 3.7xxx or Summer 2014 yet.

Technically this late bug will still mean it's only on release 2, as they never really re-released it, but it's 2.c

A new issue has been discovered in Assessment Marksheets where a Nested ‘If then Else’ statement applied to a cell with no result will cause it to be shaded by the last statement in the formula.

We are committed to resolving this as quickly as possible and will be working overnight in order to get an updated SIMS 2014 Summer release out to you tomorrow. I will post an update tomorrow AM confirming the time.

Anyone seen an issue where the tempdb in sql has blown up in size or is that just me?

Did the server crash? maybe try a reboot.
