We need to replace some aging camcorders and in the past we have had SD cards go missing when cameras were returned. Our current Hard disk camcorders were good in this respect. Would be ideal to replace them with same.

That uses an SD Card also. Looks like there just aren't any Hard Drive based Camcorders anymore. Will have to bite the bullet and go for SD Card based ones.

Could always try glueing the SD slot closed with a decent quality card inside. Or just stock up on cheap SD cards and be ready to replace them... 1
