ataylor Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 What Library system do people use? (Preferably a free/cheap one!) Thanks, Adam
foofighterjim Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Eclipse.Net It doesn't meet the free or cheap criteria though.
Jamman960 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 We're currently using Alice(seriously dated) but are seriously considering Juniorlib.net/Eclipse.net Others of note are Oliver and Accessit
themightymrp Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Oliver here (used to have Alice). But we need to run some updates as we are about 4 versions behind :-/
gumbygaz Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Eclipse.Net too, just moved to it - but yup not cheap at all.
LeMarchand Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Junior Librarian (non- .NET). Not free or even cheap and possibly they don't sell it any more - at least I couldn't spot it last time I was logged into their site.
AJWhite1970 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Moved from Alice to Eclipse.Net in the summer. Not cheap but does what it says on the tin and the LRC staff appear to be happy with it now they have worked out the reporting modules. Only involvement I have with it is if the Active Directory sync module gets stuck (happened twice in 9 months thus far...) Andrew
fairm010 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 JunLib.net. As others have said, not free or cheap. I'm not aware of any free / cheap solutions that are any good.
SYNACK Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Access it not free or cheap but good. You may be looking for this which is free I think http://www.koha.org/
bclarke Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Moved recently from Alice to Eclipse.net. Our Librarians are very happy so far. Good library software doesn't come cheap unfortunately.
MatthewL Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Two that I have seen in the past are Heritage (was DOS based when I saw it) and there is OpenGalaxy from Axiell, lots of LA use this in their libraries.
