Wildcard SSL Supplier

Hi

 

We are looking to replace our ipsCA Wildcard Certificate with one from a more client supported CA, I have tried the SSL Store (They want either a card payment / Wire Transfer / Cheque in Dollars) and 123 (They want a Card Payment only).

 

We are unable to pay by card, just by cheque.

 

Can anyone recommend a SSL Reseller which can accept Official School Orders and/or Cheques?

We get ours through our Internet Provider; SWGfL who in turn get them from Janet. We get charged £35 for three years. Worth talking to your ISP?

Sorry, just re-read your post, I don't think Janet allow Wildcards.

Just so you know the cost of the JANET certs has gone up to around £100.

SSL247 accepted a school PO from one of our customers last year, worth a look maybe.

 

Digicert is also a good, though not sure if they'll take a PO.

Rang SSL247 and heres the result:

 

123-Wildcard from Global Sign over 3 years: £179.97 (Was told by SSL247 this certificate was not Global Sign but their own)

The SSL Store Wildcard from Comodo over 3 years: £248.91

SSL247 Wildcard from Global Sign over 3 years: £1,100

SSL247 Wildacard from Geotrust over 4 years (4 years for the price of 3): £785

They dont seem to...browsing to http://www.ipsca.com brings up a Go Daddy parked page, but browsing to Home still brings up a page for them saying that they no longer issue certificates.

We (EduGeek) use AlphaSSL Wildcard Certificate from ProntoSSL as they are a UK company and the price for us is very fair. It may be worth dropping them a mail about invoice billing but at least they are UK.

I am just renewing now and you get a 20% discount if you renew early which is nice, they even emailed to ask if I had any problems as I stopped the order at the CSR point as I had lost my previous CSR.

That's a good price, but ours didn't do certs from Janet and also Janet won't issue one on a .co.uk domain

We get ours from NameCheap - https://www.namecheap.com/security/ssl-certificates/domain-validation.aspx

 

Who do a wildcard for about £50, it is however a card payment in dollars, so does require you to have a school credit card.

We must get charged extra by LGFL then. I don't think we can get the certs any other way.

Just had a renewal email reminder from ProntoSSl for ours but they do not resell AlphaSSL ones anymore due to "various issues". First time experience of this for me, hopefully straight forward!

We got our from GoDaddy 2 years ago, they took a school PO then.

We bought direct from RapidSSL for $498 on 3 years for a wildcard cert. at the time of exchange rate it worked out at £105 a year
