I have taken over an IT department with a number of old systems running. One of which is Veritas backup 9.1. This has been running fine until recently and errors have started cropping up. It backs up to a NAS drive on the other end of the building. So geographically its safe from fire in that its in a different building to the server room. I want to update the way in which we back up because Veritas 9.1 is becoming too hard to fix all the errors cropping up. I wish to know what solutions others have implemented and have had success with. We have no tape drive and everything gets backed up to a NAS drive. I have considered a few options;- * Update to Veritas backup exec 2012 (to run to NAS (about £250 ish) * Cloud backups such as myschoolbackup.co.uk (unlimited data and server backup for £399 per yr) * Scheduled task backup to copy to NAS drive Pros and Cons for each;- Veritas is a one off cost (for the next few years at least) and it will compress Data Cloud backup is the most secure and is backed up in loads of locations Scheduled task backup is free as we already have the infrastructure but it just copies one for one and I would imagine is more time consuming Any ideas people? Cloud backup is rather reliant on your internet connection so something to consider. Backup Assist is used by NASA! The reason I have always used software such as this is because of using it on tape drives, copy protect etc. As its going onto a NAS drive there should be no worries just simply merge files every night then delete the lot every 6 months or so and start again to make sure you don't have old data. This is good for data recovery shared drives and the like. Backup Assist says its a disaster recovery solution. What does this equate to? Can I recover my servers from it if they go mental? I could just take an Image of my server in Fog every now and again. Whats your thoughts?

JB. Seems weird... why would you be a business customer when you can be a reseller and get unlimited storage for half the cost?
