I don't understand why anyone would want to eat something like that. It is heat, not flavour and as far as I can see, that's all you can feel - you could be eating cardboard

Bare with me on this one, but its a bit perverse, like I said bare with me....

Pain and pleasure are for some people very close, now I'm not the type who likes to be whipped... oo err ;) but I do like the rush and bit of discomfort from a hot dish. Chilli's are known to release endorphins, have quite powerful analgesic properties and raise your metabolism.

Plus it makes us look ard ;) hahaha

The heat is part of the taste! I get disappointed if a curry doesn't have a kick to it. (Or other foods, the hotdog I posted on Twitter on Friday would have been disappointing without those chillies). :)

When my parents divorced my mum got with a jamaican man. He added jerk seasoning to everything he ate (well that's what it seemed like) and I grew up loving it and by about 12 I could have jerk seasoning without issue and moved onto hotter foods. You can still taste the chilli and the food when you are used to the heat. :-)

See this is where the ribman sauces are different. As they are hand made, they have the taste and 'love' put into it. It's not mass produced.

I forgot about this thread. Holy trinity pack arrived on Friday. All 3, not as hot as I expected, but a nice heat nonetheless.

What about Daves Chilli?

...I wish they make an extreme version.

Revisiting this thread because the subject of The Scoville Heat Scale came up in conversation today:

Link: The Scoville Heat Scale for Chilli Peppers and Hot Sauces from ChilliWorld. Compare relative heats all the way to Blair's 6 A.M. - pure capsaicin.

This scale goes from:

0: Sweet Bell pepper to:

16,000,000: Blair's 16 Million Reserve, from Gardner Resources, Inc.

Frank's Red Hot Sauces come in the range 450 to 2,085 on this scale.

Blairs stuff is good, even the lower non-stupid ones he sells.

edit: The original death sauce is good when I tried it (I dont readily detect all that much heat in food here thanks to years of Vindaloo/Madras abuse)
