And were probably still a little disgruntled. I do hope that doesn't happen again, though. I really enjoyed Season 1. I enjoyed most of it, truth be told, but it did drag on near the end.. Can they bring stargate universe back? It's spelled "SG1" Interesting... I liked Heroes. It got a bit silly towards the end, but I think that was due the the writer's strike forcing them into a corner story-wise. Have to agree. What I never understood is why Hollywood (and whever the TV Co's are based) insist on the constant remakes and "remimagings"? There must be 100's, if not 1000's, of quality original Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels out there that could be adapted. Look at Game of Thrones and Walking Dead for instance. My guess is licensing. There's not really anything you can come up with anymore that's a viable yet original idea, and anything that even half-resembles something else gets "OMG YOU JUST RIPPED OFF $PopularFranchise WHY DON'T YOU MAKE SOMETHING ORIGINAL?!". If they do try to legitimately do a show on $PopularFranchise then they get a lot of flak for 'not doing it right'. Lose-lose, really. Which is a shame, 'cause there's been some fantastic Sci-Fi done over the years. But as always, people are the worst kind of people.
GeekyPete Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 There's no good scifi right now though. The Battlestar remake was the last truly great piece of space drama, it's all been pretty quiet since. I quite liked Ascension, but it did have Tricia Helfer in too.

Look at Game of Thrones and Walking Dead for instance. ready made audience. its much easier go reboot for arguments sake back to the future (though i hope they dont) as everyone knows what it is and they dont have to explain what it is to anyone. it would also get discussed for free by the media (and tgese days im including bloggers youtubers and twits).the big problem is a lot of people saw these classics when younger and as a result are emotionally remembered in a way as an older person is unlikely so even if it is better odds on we wont remember it that way

Under the Dome came back last night and seems to have run out of ideas, daft And then there is Shamamalayan and his Wayward Pines, he is still living off 'I see dead people'

Be careful what you wish for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvNYIEN1vIg Admittedly that was made as a "rights retention" quickie (like Roger Corman's 1994 "Fantastic Four" film - also on YouTube) and broadcast on a paid infomercial channel but presumably the rights still remain with the producers who haven't ruled it out from being canon. Jordan's widow has launched legal action, though. Dark Matter could possibly have some promise. Early reading on it seemed positive, but I've still not had chance to watch any of the frst three episodes. I've watched the first two, its....fine... very clichéd though. Unimpressed with the first 2 eps; it's very 90s. Killjoys looks similarly naff, but have yet to watch it. IMHO there's too much genre stuff at the moment - I can't keep up! Red Eagle are pushing their luck but there's so many different actions that they're going to forget who sued who for what before long!
