  • This year's name is correct. It is called STOCKtober again; we will be giving away surplus stock.
  • There are no socks involved this year.
  • There will be daily winners, but videos are only weekly this time.
  • It is still ALL ABOUT THE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!! *dons clown shoes*

We've had to adjust the format a bit because daily videos take up A LOT of my time and we have several other important marketing projects going on at the moment that mustn't suffer because I'm too busy shouting and dodging boxes.

 

That being said, there will still be fun to be had in the thread and the vids will be... unpredictable (as ever). Speak up if there is anything you want to see us get up to and we'll pick some out that we think we can get away with. Bonus prizes for suggestions that make it into the vids (awarded at my discretion of course).

 

Full details when we post the competition thread next week.

 

Ooooh - I just got the excitement shiver. It begins!

They've missed my birthday by nearly a month (and counting)...

 

They best be planning something special to make up for it, or I'll just have to be mildly disappointed in them for about 5 minutes.

I've dug out one of my gifs from last year to use as my avatar to get in the spirit!

 

Think I'll have to knock up some pictures tonight, you need something on your board on the first!

Last time round I actually went to the effort of saving PSDs of Al & Colin's heads cut out on a transparent background, to make Photoshopping quicker. They're still in the same place, ready for loading ;)

 

Here's some favourites from previous years (and by favourites, I mean ones I could find in my attachments here while peering at the tiny tiny thumbnails)

It may be quicker if you spend the time getting prepared...

 

But I prefer my jank method. It has a sort of rustic charm :p

Never claimed they were any good. Only did it so I could be the first one to make the obvious joke every time instead of getting beaten to the punch while I'm faffing around with Quick Select.

Looking back, I won the Valhalla tshirt on my birthday, @VeryPC didn't know it was though :)

 

I won a USB stick on my birthday, but Socktober starts the day after my birthday this year... Col, Ross, Al, Danni et al, my Birthday is the 2nd October if you'd like to send me a present!!! :p Good luck in the comp folks!

Looking back, I've won... absolutely nothing at all... ever*. Not in S(t)ocktober nor in MADvent, nor even during Prize-a-Day May. @Stevecee, however, seems to get drawn out of the chassis/sock in every competition and, each time, I feel the short thrill of expectation only to have my hopes dashed to pieces, like a wave crashing against a defiant cliff-face. With a bit of luck, though, @Stevecee may not hear about Stocktober this time and I shall claim what is rightly mine. Help me out here, guys. NOBODY tell @Stevecee. Shhhh!

 

*Actually, over they years I've won a 'Bring Me The Box' t-shirt, a mug, a pair of VeryPC snuggle socks, 2 UFDs, an Intel water bottle and a Hello Kitty advent calendar, but they were all bonus prizes so they don't count. :tongue:
