It always makes me sad to see derelict or disused buildings - especially historical ones that have fallen to ruin when you consider how impressive they probably once were (LeBoyfriend and I are English Heritage members and enjoy touring ruins and learning about the history of the place).

witch Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 My son and a friend got into an old abandoned theatre in Portsmouth and took some amazing pictures - so sad though - it was flooded too and has since been knocked down. Buildings fascinate me...I always look up when walking around, it is amazing what interesting buildings have had shopfronts grafted on to them

Our Zombie Apocalypse plan is to take over Portchester Castle and refortify it - there is enough room in the grounds for modest crop growing and animal grazing - some cows, horses and pigs. It'd be really draughty and cold though... 1

I went on the Aldwich tube station tour last month with a couple of other EG's and was a really good tour but shame they don't do them more often tickets sold out like hot cakes. Other LU stations have been UrbEx'd and look impressive

The Camden Catacombs, as they have become known are were once owned by British Railwaysbut have now passed into multiple ownership. Worth knowing that apparently LU are now taking a very dim view of UrbEx visits, using anti-terrorism laws apparently saw on another forum. Its a real shame the state some buildings get into when they could be used. Its amazing how many NHS buildings are left to rot with most things inside!
