We have a student who has a requirement to see what is displayed on the IWB on an IPAD or MS Surface RT device (due to a disability). I have looked at Splashtop is the #1 Remote Desktop and Application Access for Mobile Devices but this requires a login to use the software. As we are an LGFL School this site comes under the "Remote Access Tools" category and is therefore blocked.

I am looking into VNC as an alternative but does anyone know of any software that works on an IPAD or MS Surface that will allow the user to view a remote desktop (no control required)?

Older versions of Splashtop didn't require a login - v1.x doesn't. However, that may only work on PC and Mac.

I think VNC set with a view only password is probably the best option for this, due to the low bandwidth and large number of compatible devices.

I thought that was the case as we have one user with an older version of splashtop.

Will be looking into VNC in view mode later today.

Have a look at Displaynote

Steve

Displaynote would be too expensive. We have one participant but would need the software in every room she goes to.

edit :

Displaynote is not available on Windows APP Store.

Worth noting that you can actually install displaynote in as many rooms as you want. Slightly confusing but you pay per connected device rather than number of installs. If you only want to connect one device you only need the most basic licence. That will give you a user name log in that you can use on any machine with the software installed.

Worth sanity checking with display note but that's my understanding.
