Asset management

I'm just wondering what people do for their asset/inventory management and what solutions are used. At the moment we just use an Excel spreadsheet but are looking at ways of improving efficiency (e.g. barcode scanners).

Currently Wasp Asset Management version 6, previously 5.5

 

Looking to likely replace that with something more geared to our needs such as Schools Asset Manager though. Still investigating.

We've just bought into CSE (CSE Asset Manager and Service Manager – software for schools) - Combines Asset Management and Helpdesk. Good package, great price, brilliant customer support.

we've been using this one for 2 years now http://www.10-strike.com/networkinventoryexplorer

it polls and collects all the data needed remotely. it's helpful. in addition, it allows to generate different reports, so no need to use excel.
