Smartboard issue

Hi there,

 

we have a Smartboard that is having issues when writing.

 

If I were to draw x20 vertical lines in Notebook, the lines will kink roughly half way down and then be approx 2cm away from where the pen is on the screen. The vertical lines in the middle of the document are the best ones as there is only a very slight kink in them.

 

The board has been re-orientated several times but hasn't made a difference.

 

Anyone got any ideas?

any power cables running behind it?

Try your screen resolution, then reinstall the smart driver then the software and restart.

Smart software has just been installed and updated from fresh.

 

I shall check the power cable in a bit.

Have you orinted it with computer? if yes have you tried a more fine orientation which can be changed in the configuration menu?

Try tapping lightly along the horizontal where the kink is

I would check this. We recently had some new boards installed and were getting the same problem. We had power cables running behind one of the boards. We put a small piece of wood behind it to bring the board out by a couple of inches and it fixed the problem.

We also had this problem a while back. We also had boards that looked like ECGs with spikes everywhere. I can't remember the exact problem but I think it was something to do with the way the boards were attached to the wall. There was some kind of metal mesh behind the plaster and the installers should have used plastic plugs or something. I'll see if I can find any documentation about it.

Doing the 'fine' orientation done the trick!!!!
