broadld Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Hi there, We have had a few student coming with the problem that they cannot login to HAP. We have verified this only on IE 11 all other browsers work fine. In IE 11 you have to put compatability mode on for you to be able to login. You basically press the login button or press enter and it doesn't do anything. Has anyone else come across this problem and has anyone fixed this? We are currently on version 9.5.831.2140
Michael Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 IE11 is still in beta, so you may discover numerous compatibility problems. It'll come with Windows 8.1 later this year and Windows 7 SP1 early next year.
broadld Posted October 3, 2013 Author Posted October 3, 2013 Just wondering if this is a problem IE 11 or if something needs to be changed with HAP to increase support. Better having HAP support IE11 before its actually released. But i'm sure i spotted that Nickbro had tested IE11 on windows 8.1 and it worked fine. But don't know if he had to put compatibility mode on fo it to work. Thanks David
MYK-IT Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Yes, same issue here. Just tried with Windows 8.1 Enterprise RTM/IE 11 and although HAP presents the logon screen, users cannot login. (page cannot be displayed)
nickbro Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I haven't gotten 8.1 yet, so won't be able to test it. I will check as soon as I can though. I may upgrade my work pc to IE11
broadld Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 Yes i have upgraded to IE 11 on my work machine. I have also upgraded HAP to 9.6 but the problem still exists.
nickbro Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Just tested, and HAP+ v9.6 logs in fine for me, My Files also responds correctly. IE 11.0.9600.16384
broadld Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 That is the same version of IE i am using as i only downloaded it yesterday myself to test. Have you got IE in compatibility view? As it works fine if we switch that on. Thanks David
MYK-IT Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Just tested, and HAP+ v9.6 logs in fine for me, My Files also responds correctly. IE 11.0.9600.16384 I stand corrected, just tried using another account and it works fine (without compatibility mode being on)...just need to find out why the original test account didn't log in successfully!
broadld Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 I stand corrected, just tried using another account and it works fine (without compatibility mode being on)...just need to find out why the original test account didn't log in successfully! Is this on the same computer just a logged on as a different user? Or are you logged in with the same user on the computer and using a different user to login to HAP?
MYK-IT Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Is this on the same computer just a logged on as a different user? Or are you logged in with the same user on the computer and using a different user to login to HAP? (Initially) same computer, different user account for HAP. But of all the test HAP accounts; I had used one with an issue as it wouldn't log in via any (version) of web-browser (IE, Chrome) etc. Now using a known working HAP account and it is logging into HAP fine.
broadld Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 This still is not working for me. It doesn't matter what account i use to login to HAP the login button just will not work even with a user i know works. If i put compatibility mode on it works fine.
nickbro Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 @broadld You don't need this hotfix do you: A hotfix is available for the ASP.NET browser definition files in the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0
broadld Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Hi there, I have installed this and the login button still does not work whichever username is put in.
nickbro Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Ok, are you getting any javascript errors? It sounds like an ASP.net issue with IE11. See c# - ASP.Net 4.0, JavaScript Not Outputted in IE 11 - Stack Overflow

speckytecky Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 IE11 Blocker Kit Download Toolkit to Disable Automatic Delivery of Internet Explorer 11 from Official Microsoft Download Center
kennysarmy Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 IE11 Blocker Kit Download Toolkit to Disable Automatic Delivery of Internet Explorer 11 from Official Microsoft Download Center If you use WSUS is this not necessary?
Arthur Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 If you use WSUS is this not necessary? Definitely not required. This Blocker Toolkit is made available to those who would like to block automatic delivery of Internet Explorer 11 to machines in environments where Automatic Updates is enabled. The Blocker Toolkit will not expire. Note: For computers running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, the Blocker Toolkit prevents the machine from receiving Internet Explorer 11 via Automatic Updates on the Windows Update and Microsoft Update sites. The Blocker Toolkit will not prevent users from manually installing Internet Explorer 11 from the Microsoft Download Center, or from external media. Organizations do not need to deploy the Blocker Toolkit in environments managed with an update management solution such as Windows Server Update Services or System Center 2012 Configuration Manager. Organizations can use those products to fully manage deployment of updates released through Windows Update and Microsoft Update, including Internet Explorer 11, within their environment. Even if you used the Blocker Toolkit to block Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9, or Internet Explorer 10 from being installed as a high-priority or important update, you will still need to use the Internet Explorer 11 version of the Blocker Toolkit to block Internet Explorer 10 from being installed. There are different registry keys used to block or unblock automatic delivery of Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9, Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 11. 1
broadld Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 Any Javascript errors being reported from http://www.edugeek.net/forums/home-access-plus/86059-hap-json-debugging.html I have performed the JSON debugging and nothing at all comes up as errors while capturing on the network tab.
